Really Interesting!!!

Surfing the net I've come across some really interesting information  about Prince Charles. He has long been concerned about climate change and about how destruction of the world’s rainforests contributes to rising temperatures and sea levels. He set up The Prince’s Rainforests Project (PRP) in 2007, following reports from leading climate change experts - including the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change - about the need to find a way to slow the rate of tropical deforestation.

Princes William and Harry have been joined by Hollywood stars, a legendary footballer and an animated frog in a YouTube video for Prince Charles' Rainforest Project.

Russian tea-drinking traditions

My dear students, you'll have to write an essay about Russian traditions of drinking tea. Tea has become an essential part of our social life that links us back to ancient China, adds the colour and beauty of fine tea wares to our tables, offers us a drink that is cleansing and revitalising, and reminds us of the mystical powers of tea to calm and focus us in our busy everyday lives.

Here are the questions and ideas that, I hope, will help you with your writing:

When did tea first arrive in Russia?

What were early tea customs?

What was the central symbol of the Russian tea ceremony?

What does 'Russian tea' mean nowadays?

When is tea served during the day?

Are there any tea rooms in Russia?

What about you? Do you drink tea? What are your preferences?

Key words: Russian Tea Time, Czar, Samovar, Zavarka, Bliny, Podstakanniki.

Write 150-200 words.
